The clearance process typically involves several steps and requires coordination with customs authorities as well as other government agencies. Here’s a general overview:

Documentation

  1.    – Commercial Invoice: A detailed list of the goods being shipped, including their value, description, and quantity.
  2. Bill of Lading (BOL): A legal document between the shipper and carrier detailing the type, quantity, and destination of the goods being shipped.
  3. Packing List: Provides information on how the cargo is packed, including dimensions and weight.
  4. Certificate of Origin: Indicates where the goods were manufactured and can affect duty rates.
  5. Import or Export License: Some goods may require special permission to be imported or exported.
  6. -Certificate of Conformity to standard issued by appointed agents of Tanzania Bureau of standards (TBS)
  7. -Phytosanitary certificate on any wooden items including wooden cases /palets.
